Household removals were not as commonplace as they are today and the brothers had the foresight to purchase an area of woodland, part of which they developed to form their own homes and gardens. The remainder provided wood products which were sold alongside aggregate as part of their combined haulage and removal business. When a household removal was to be undertaken a canvas 'tilt' was lifted onto one of their flat-bed trucks - the earliest of which was a solid tyred Leyland Peerless.
Bob's eldest son Peter joined the business in the early 1950's and in the next few years he gradually turned the firm into purely a household removal business.
Ede Bros first warehouse was erected on it's Capel site in 1962. The first purpose built pantechnicans joined the fleet in 1961.
Peter's eldest son Norman joined the family business in 1984 and has helped develop the firm into a European removal and worldwide shipping concern alongside it's core UK removal business.
Ede Bros still operates from it's original Capel site, which is now home to three warehouses. The woodland still provides a variety of products which are sold to sustain an ongoing woodland and wildlife management programme.
Ede Bros are proud to be members of the British Association of Removers (BAR), an organisation which dates back to 1900. The BAR represents leading removal and storage companies throughout Great Britain, Europe and Overseas. Membership is through compliance with criteria relating to operational ability and financial standing and members are inspected annually to ensure high standards are maintained.
